Our Vision

The College will be a Centre of Excellence in the provision of education and skills training for young people wishing to take up a career in the defined skills shortage areas including Engineering, Construction, Automotive, Hospitality and Electro-technology.

Our Mission

The College has the following goals and strategies

School Culture and Spirit

To develop pride in the College and respect for one another, by:

  • Instilling in all students and staff a strong sense of College pride
  • Assisting students develop skills to maximize their personal growth and their contribution to society
  • Helping students to respect differences among their fellow students and within the broader community

Teaching and Learning

To provide a range of educational opportunities both academic and professional which enable students to reach their full potential, by:

  • Promoting best practice amongst staff, those directly employed and those contracted to provide services to the college
  • Creating an environment of participation and excellence
  • Encouraging each student to achieve academically and vocationally to the best of his/her ability
  • Continuing to evaluate the curriculum to reflect student and industry needs
  • Promoting high levels of literacy, numeracy and vocational skill amongst the students
  • Maximising the use and integration of information technologies across the curriculum
  • Using other educational and vocational providers across the region to support and expand curriculum options
  • Providing an assessment and reporting system that identifies outcomes as outlined by the Victorian Curriculum & Assessment Authority and Victorian Qualifications Authority.

Pastoral Care

To provide care and support for all college members in a safe and open environment, by:

  • Implementing a Pastoral Care program for all members of the College community
  • Providing a Pastoral Care structure based on the needs of each individual
  • Working in partnership with parents on issues concerning students
  • Providing students with opportunities for leadership and initiative

Partnerships

To establish partnerships with key stakeholders across the region, by:

  • Promoting and establishing a partnership relationship with a broad employer base across the region
  • Developing collaborative and co-operative relationships with Secondary Colleges, Bendigo TAFE and Registered Training Organisations across the region
  • Promoting the importance of partnerships with staff, students and parents
  • Preparing and implementing comprehensive engagement strategies with all stakeholders
